Alaska Peninsula National Wildlife Refuge was established to conserve brown bears, caribou, moose, marine mammals, shorebirds, other migratory birds, raptors, and fish; to fulfill treaty obligations; to provide for continued subsistence users; and to ensure necessary water quality and quantity.
